Community Guidelines
Last updated: October 2026
UBC Tracker exists to make campus a bit friendlier. These guidelines keep it that way. Submissions that don’t follow them are declined or removed.
Good things to post
- Sightings: where and when you saw the hero, and what they were up to.
- Cleanup spots: places on campus that need litter picked up.
- Events: public, welcoming campus events where a friendly visit would make someone’s day.
This is not the place for crimes or emergencies
The hero is a volunteer in a costume, not a security service. Never report crimes, emergencies, medical situations or people in distress here. Call 911 in an emergency, or UBC Campus Security at 604-822-2222.
Don’t post
- Anything that tries to reveal, guess or hint at who is in the costume. The secret identity is part of the fun; please keep it.
- Personal information about anyone: names, phone numbers, addresses, schedules, student numbers.
- Photos where other people can be identified without their permission.
- Private residences, residence rooms, restricted areas, or anywhere it would be unsafe or unlawful to go.
- Harassment, hate, threats, or anything sexual or graphic.
- Advertising, spam or commercial promotion.
- Locations or timings meant to ambush, follow or prank anyone.
Stay safe
Don’t follow anyone, climb anything, or enter areas you’re not allowed in to get a sighting. Respect people who don’t want to be in photos.
