Accessibility Policy
Last updated: October 2026
UBC Tracker should be usable by everyone in the UBC community, including people with disabilities. Morrison Sites builds and maintains it to the same standard as its own site.
Our commitment
We aim to align this site with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and we work in the spirit of the Accessible British Columbia Act and the Accessible Canada Act.
Measures we take
- Clear headings, labels and a logical reading order on every page.
- Mobile-first layouts that stay usable at increased zoom.
- Sufficient colour contrast for text and interface elements, and meaning that never depends on colour alone. Map pins differ in shape as well as colour.
- Keyboard support for browsing, reporting and requesting.
- A text list of recent sightings alongside the map, so the information doesn’t depend on seeing the map.
- Forms with real labels and clear error messages.
- Respect for reduced-motion preferences.
Conformance status
The site is new and actively developed. We consider it partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. The campus map is provided by Google Maps, and parts of its accessibility depend on Google.
